This monster Italian zander weighing 25lb 6oz could set a new IGFA all tackle world record. It was caught by Italian angler Marco Turini, who was fishing the River Po, a waterway famed for its huge catfish.

Marco was lure fishing with a six-inch Kopyto Shad matched with a 30gr jig head in the Cremona area. The fish, which measured a massive 104cm in length, took the lure at 7pm and put up a powerful 30-minute fight.

The world IGFA record currently stands at 25lb 2oz, a fish taken in Sweden in 1986, although bigger fish have been reported but not claimed.
