REPORT

MOLANDS The fishing was a little up and down last week with the very hot weather at the start of the week making it difficult but as the cooler weather set in, things improved. There were weights caught in matches to 189lb and decent back up weights too. Carp to 19lb and F1s to 7lb featured with a variety of tactics catching including the method feeder to the island, long pole with caster or pellet shallow or paste/meat down the margins. Top pegs were 2, 4, 13, 15, 27, 31, 35, 41 – 48 and 56 – 60.

GEARYS Still not 100% but weights to 100lb+ were caught in matches and pleasure catches exceeding that were caught this week. Carp to nearly 20lb have been caught with plenty of doubles showing at the moment. Bomb and boilies/8mm pellet and method feeder to the middle stumps have been the best approach for carp. Silver fish nets to around 50lb have been caught with pellet fished caster, expander pellet or paste. Best pegs have been 7 – 13, 20 – 23, 30, 31 and 36.

LITTLE GEARYS In great form this week with weights to over 200lb in matches and lots of other big nets caught. Shallow tactics are best with pole and pellet fished long at 12 – 14 metres or pellet through the ‘slop’ at five metres. Meat or paste down the edge is also working well.

GRATUITIES With the very hot conditions the carp have been moving all over the top of Grats and floating baits have accounted for the better catches with carp to double figures coming to big expanders or dog biscuit. Good mixed nets caught on soft pellet, caster or paste fished on the pole with bream, carp, tench and crucians showing well.

ANNIVERSARIES There have been some lovely nets of bream with fish in the 3 – 5lb range coming to meat, worm or caster over ground bait. The F1s have been showing well too with fish to 3lb being caught on pellet or caster fished on the pole. Pegs 1 – 6, 15, 17 and 21 – 23 have been best.

WILLOW In good form this week with lots of F1s and smaller carp being caught mainly to shallow tactics but edge fishing with paste or meat is also good. A small pellet waggler or ‘plopper fished up tight to the island has caught nets to 100lb.

SIBLINGS A (Doughnut) Carp to double figures, F1s, ide and skimmers have been caught this week with nets to around 50lb in matches. Paste, meat and worm have been the best baits fished down the middle or along the margins.

SIBLINGS B (Horseshoe) Fished really well this week with nets to 100lb of mainly F1s but skimmers, ide, tench and carp have also featured. Polony fished pellet shallow or paste has been the best tactics on there with pegs 3 – 10 in best form.
