England have another team and individual international gold medal to their name after fairly blitzing the 2014 World Feeder Champs in a one sided event on Ireland’s Inniscarra Reservoir.

England won both days easily, and posted the highest overall team weight by some 27kg, coming home by a clear 36 points on 26pts – in horse racing terms that equates to winning by a distance.

The silver medal went to Ireland, who held on to the second spot they held after the first day, finishing on 62 points, 15pts clear of bronze medallists Holland.

There was also joy on the individual front for Steve Ringer, who took the individual gold medal. Steve had been fourth overall after day one on weight, but was the only angler to win his section on both days. England’s Mick Vials also won an individual medal, the bronze, with Germany’s Felix Scheuermann splitting them for the silver medal. Wales and Scotland did not compete in the event although 25 teams did.
