The rearranged Fish’O’Mania qualifier at Moorlands Farm saw ninety-five of the country’s best commercial anglers vying for the chance to pick up the esteemed Fish’O’Mania title. Saturday’s weather was very up and down, with high winds and showery spells and it made for some tricky angling conditions, with some of the best weights coming from anglers who could catch close in.

One such angler was Matrix/Dynamite backed Aidan Mansfield who’d drawn well on peg 4 on Silver Pool. Aidan started up in the water, feeding maggots by hand to take F1s to 2lb, however as the wind strengthened, he was forced down his right-hand margin where he took mainly F1s and two carp for his 160lb 7oz on hard pellet. Aidan commented ‘I’m over the moon to get into the Fish’O final’.

Second on the day was Zoltan Lari who drew on peg 7 on Bank Pool. Zoltan used a lovely simple method which combatted the atrocious conditions, fishing a bomb and pellet to take mainly large carp for his 135lb 9oz.

Rounding out the top three was Ben Lockwood on peg 26 on Silver Lake. Ben also utilised short range tactics catching both shallow and down his edges on maggots for 113lb 8oz.

Our thanks to Tracy and the team at Moorlands Farm and to Mark Treasure for running the match on the day. Our next qualifier is another SELLOUT at Tunnel Barn Farm and anglers are reminded to check the new procedures and pay for their pools on the Online Booking Site.
