Round One

Reigning champions on top…again!

With the river at its lowest level for many years and barely two feet of water in many swims minnows and bleak paid a major part in the team outcome of this first league match of the season. Premier Floats Woody’s showed they have no intention of relinquishing their title with a superb performance racking up 62 points. Second home on 53 points were Match Fishing followed by Wizards and Mosella Wolves on 49 and 47 points respectively.
On the individual front Match Fishing’s Dave Harrell found himself two pegs above the Victoria Bridge (peg 101) and fishing waggler and maggot accumulated 40lb 12oz of mainly dace adding three decent chub towards the end. Dave Roberts (Woody’s) found a shoal of perch at peg 88, and with some nudging 2lb, put a very impressive 37lb 10oz on the scales. Third from end peg 102 Phil Maizonnier (Wizards) had 24lb 4oz of chub and dace followed by team mate Andy Burt with another perch bag of 15lb 7oz (peg28).
