COVENTRY anglers are mourning the loss of Jack Peacegood, ‘the Coombe Legend’, who has passed away aged 61.

Jack spent 80% of his angling time targeting the bream at Coombe Abbey and had numerous 100lb plus weights there. His crowning moment was winning the Bill Lane Memorial at the venue in 1992.

He lived on his own in Wykin only minutes from his favourite venue and died at home. He was found by friend of 40 years Mick Bryant, who worked with him at Mother’s Pride in Coventry before it closed down. Mick provided us with the picture.
