A popular two day festival fished on the lesser known waters of County Monaghan. The 2015 festival held over the weekend of the 11th & 12th of July produced some great weights. Mixed bags and top weights of roach, perch, tench and some bream were caught on the Dromore system lakes of Drumlona, Bairds Shore, Bream Rock Lough Egish in the Ballybay area.

67 anglers from Ireland and the UK shared the Irish festival experience with fresh bait sold on site on Saturday morning and a few sore heads on Sunday! A total prize fund of over €4000 was paid out.

Due to the popularity of the event and the good fishing in the area Ballybay Angling Association have announced a five day event ‘The Ballybay Classic’ following on from the 2-day festival in 2016 providing 7 days of match fishing in the area from Saturday 9th to Friday 15th July.
