WIGSTON Angling Society is holding is annual Leicester Canal Championships on Sunday 12th March 2006.

 

Now in its fourth year, this popular event will be fished on the canalised section of the river Soar below Kings lock near Aylestone, Leicester.

 

The competition is a 60 peg individual event with Wigston Angling Society putting-up prize monies of, 1st Place: £150, 2nd place: £100 and 3rd place:

£50 (all plus pools) and the coveted Ivan Marks Leicester Canal Championships trophy for the individual winner.

 

Wigston Angling Society Match secretary, Mick Holohan said: “This season¹s championship takes place on the last weekend of the open river season, when this stretch of the canalised river Soar fishes at its best. Our current individual winter league series and open matches are regularly being won with double figure catches of roach, bream and perch with lots of good backing weights.”

 

Match entry fee and pools is £15 all-in and there are no bait restrictions.
