Rex Tear on the same stretch fishing with bread flake tempted chub of 3lb 8ozs, 4lb 4ozs and a 6lb specimen. Also on the river Steve Briggs caught 3 pike between 7 and 14lbs and 2 zander of 5 and 8lbs. On the South Lagoon fishing for silver fish is improving with mixed bags of roach and skimmers falling to maggot.
At Beckerings Reservoir, Steppingley, the odd carp is still being caught; the largest recorded last week was a 19 pounder falling to Gary Stevens. The predator fisherman are having mixed fortunes a number of fish have been reported up to 15lbs. Bad news for anyone fishing Beckerings. The E A have requested that the trees surrounding the reservoir must go as they are a treat to the reservoir’s lining. This work will be undertaken in the near future.
