Dams and Lock in charge

Ian Williams included perch to 2lb 6oz in a fine winning 15-4-8 bag in the final round of the West Midlands Drennan Superleague, fished at Hinksford on the Staffs-Worcester Canal.

Ian drew peg H14 and fished down the track on the pole with worm and caster for the day’s only double figure bag. Daiwa Gordon League won he last round on a section win countback, but it wasn’t enough to see them overhaul league leaders Sensas Dams and Lock, who beat them in the final league by 298 to 293, with Mosella Black Country in third.

Tipton take summer league

Another league entering its final round at the weekend was the Sensas Dams and Lock Summer League, which saw 50 anglers line the banks of the Birmingham-Fazeley Canal at Tyburn in Birmingham.

And it was a day for the ladies with Samantha Perkins, fishing for Preston Innovations Dynamite Baits, seeing off all challengers with a fine 7-10-0 bag of roach taken on punched bread and hemp at the Cinema Bridge.

Tipton Van den Eynde rounded off a successful series nicely with a win on the day to take the league easily, beating Shakespeare by 13 points, with Tipton van den Eynde Gold in third.
