REPORT

MOLANDS The fishing was quite hard at the start of the week with the fish more interested in spawning and with some very changeable weather conditions. It improved later in the week with the F1’s to 5lb showing in good numbers all around the pool. Pole fished pellet or chopped worm and caster fished shallow or on the deck at 13 metres has been the top tactic. There are plenty of skimmers and crucians also showing to this tactic as well. Later in the day, meat or corn down the margins is also working well. Best pegs have been 2, 8, 15 – 19, 27 – 31, 42 – 48 and
54 – 58.

GEARYS The fish were spawning like mad early in the week and hopefully it is now out of way. Catches have been a little patchy but nets to 100lb have been taken and some larger fish have been showing with quite a few 15lb+ being caught. Bomb and 8mm pellet or pellet feeder with pellet or boilies on the hook have been the best tactic for carp. Decent nets of skimmers are being taken on pole fished expander pellet or chopped worm and caster. Top pegs are 1, 9, 13, 16, 19 – 21, 27, 31 and 36.

LITTLE GEARYS Catches have been on the up through the week with nets to 114lb best and good back up weights in matches. The carp have been responding to pellet waggler or bomb fished right up to the island with fish to double figures and plenty of samples in the 3 – 6lb range. Shallow pole and pellet is best for the F1’s with slapping and jigging both catching plenty of fish. Top pegs are 1, 4, 7 – 13, 21 and 25 – 30.

GRATUITIES Pellet waggler or a small bomb and pellet is working best for good nets of carp and pleasure anglers have reported catches in excess of 100lb this week. There are plenty of silver fish and crucians to be caught on a simple float working with caster and soft pellet catching.

WILLOW Shallow fishing either on the pole at 13 metres and the pellet waggler have been the best tactics catching lots of carp and F1’s. The bigger carp have been coming to meat or paste fished down the margins with fish to 15lb caught last week.

SIBLINGS A & B Both pools have fished better this week with nets to 60lb in matches. Pole fished pellet, corn or meat is best on both pools fishing tight across to the far side.

ANNIVERSARIES Annies is fishing well with lots of F1’s, small carp, ide, bigger bream and the odd tench being caught. Banded hard pellet, expander and maggot have all been catching plenty of fish. Fishing into the open water rather than tight to the features has been working best with pegs 2 – 6, 10, 15 and 21 – 23 fishing best.
