REPORT

MOLANDS   It has been very up and down over the past week with the cool easterly breezes affecting the fishing.  When it has been good it has been very good with 100lb+ catches this week with the best weight of the year, 142lb off peg 56 during Wednesday’s afternoon match.  Up in the water has generally been best with pellet waggler or long pole and pellet fished shallow the top tactic.  In the afternoon, it is best to fish close in down the margins for the bigger fish.  Top pegs are 2, 8, 13, 29, 43 – 46 and 56 – 60..

GEARYS   Plenty of double figure carp coming to the carp anglers with boilies fished at long range working best.  In the matches, straight lead and 8mm pellet is accounting for the better nets and weights to over 80lb were recorded this week.  Plenty of silvers are being caught on pole and pellet or caster with mixed nets to 40lb seen this week.  Top pegs are 1, 6, 9, 11 – 13, 16 – 21, 27, 31 and 36.

LITTLE GEARYS   The most consistent pool this week with good nets of F1 carp, crucians and tench being caught from all around the pool.  Fishing down the margins with corn, pellet or caster is accounting for the biggest nets but pellet feeder, shallow pole and pellet and on the deck with pellet are all worth a try at the moment.

GRATUITIES   Fished a lot better this week with feeder to the island working for carp to 10lb in nets to over 70lb.  Mixed catches are coming to the pole and pellet, maggot or caster with crucians, tench, carp and the odd barbel being caught.  Best pegs are 1, 4, 11, 13 and 15.

WILLOW    Pleasure anglers have caught lots of carp in the 3 – 8lb bracket fishing with bread on the top.  In matches, the best tactics have been down the margin with caster or corn for carp and F1’s.  Best pegs are 1, 2, 5, 6, 8 and 12.

SIBLINGS A (Doughnut).   Fishing better to the bank where the wind is blowing for best results with carp to 6lb, F1’s and tench being caught.  Simple pole with pellet or maggot fished over micros tactics are working best.

SIBLINGS B (Horseshoe).   Short pole with pellet, caster, corn or maggot is working well with F1’s in the 8oz – 1lb bracket being caught in large numbers.  The better pegs are on the end of the pool from 7 – 13.

ANNIVERSARIES   The F1’s are becoming wider spread with fish showing all around the pool.  Pleasure anglers are reporting catches in excess of 1001lb with short pole and pellet the best tactic.
