REPORT

MOLANDS   Fished better this week with some very good carp nets coming out.  Peg 60 produced a 100lb+ catch of fish from 4 – 10lb on straight lead and pellet and there were also plenty of 40 – 70lb weights in matches around the pool.  The skimmers, tench and F1’s are showing well down the near margin with pole and paste or pellet accounting for nets to over 50lb.  Top pegs are 2, 8, 12, 19 – 21, 29, 44 – 46 and 58 – 60.

GEARYS    Very patchy this week but picked up at the weekend with catches to over 100lb.  Wayne Sharman won the Tornadoes AC match from peg 10 chucking a method feeder to the middle stumps catching carp to 10lb coming to pellet or meat on the hook.  The skimmers have not showed in numbers but catches to 40lb were still caught and the early pegs along the high bank have produced the best bags to pole fished paste or pellet.

LITTLE GEARYS    The most consistent pool on the fishery with 40lb match weights from all areas and usually 50 – 60lb needed to win.  F1’s in the 12oz – 3lb range, skimmers and an increasing number of carp from 2 – 4lb showing this week.  Best tactics have been either long pole and pellet fished shallow or a small method to the island with meat or pellet on the hook.

GRATUITIES   Very busy with pleasure anglers this week and catches have been good with tench to 6lb and carp to 5lb providing the bulk of the catches but also plenty of skimmers and crucians coming out too.  Pole fished paste has accounted for the better catches with pellet a good alternative.

ANNIVERSARIES   This pool has been in cracking form this week with carp to 20lb coming out along with some terrific mixed nets of carp, tench, crucians, skimmers and roach.  The bigger fish have come to floating baits with dog biscuit and traditional bread working well.  The paste or pellet is catching everything and mixed pleasure nets to over 70lb have been reported this week.

WILLOW   Another pool in good form with lots of carp in the 2 – 3lb bracket along with the odd fish into double figures.  Tench to 4lb, crucians and skimmers have also featured in nets.  Pole, pellet, paste or corn have been working well.

CRESCENT   There have been plenty of carp caught from 3 – 6lb along with skimmers and crucians.  The best tactic is to fish tight into the near margin with meat or corn.
