 REPORT

MOLANDS    After defrosting early in the week, sport has improved and the water temperatures have risen.  Catches to over 40lb caught in matches with F1’s to 3lb providing the bulk of the action and skimmers and carp also showing in pockets.  Best tactics have been pole and pellet fished at 10 – 14 metres or straight lead and bread for the carp.  Top pegs 2 – 4, 12, 19 – 21, 44 – 48 and 52 – 60.

GEARYS   Sport has been tricky on Gearys with skimmers in the 1 – 2lb range being caught and fantails the only fish to be having a go.  A small ground bait feeder with red maggot or pinkie has been the best tactic for catches into double figures.  The high bank from 7 – 12 has been the best area.

LITTLE GEARYS    Completely frozen at the start of the week but the thaw saw decent action return with F1’s and skimmers showing all around the pool.  The best tactic has been long pole with pellet on the hook but a small cage or method feeder fished up to the island has also been producing plenty of bites.  Top pegs are 3, 7, 9 – 15, 21 and 25 – 27.

GRATUITIES   The top tactics on Gratuities have been a small pellet fished to the island with corn, meat or pellet on the hook or pellet/maggot fished on the pole at 10 – 13 metres.  Carp to 6lb, tench to 4lb, skimmers, perch and chub have featured in catches this week.

ANNIVERSARIES   This pool is starting to show a bit of form after a really poor winter.  Mixed of nets of carp, F1’s, tench and skimmers are coming to pole and pellet with pleasure anglers reporting bags estimated at 40 – 50lb.  Top pegs have been 4, 6, 10, 15, and 17 – 23.

WILLOW   Taking the reeds out between pegs 5 and 6 is starting to pay dividends with fish being caught around all the pool.  F1’s, carp, tench and skimmers providing match and pleasure nets to 40lb+.  Pegs 1, 2, 5, 8 and 12 have been best.

CRESCENT   The pegs on the narrow part at the top end have been best fishing a pellet or corn tight across to the reeds for carp from 2 – 8lb.  There have also been plenty of skimmers, roach and a few tench showing to pellet or maggot on the pool on the other areas.
