REPORT

MOLANDS The milder weather saw an upturn in sport throughout the week. Feeder tactics saw the better catches to over 50lb coming to the pellet feeder combined with meat, pellet or corn. F1’s to 3lb have featured in catches with tench and carp also starting to show in numbers. Pole anglers have enjoyed decent sport too with mixed nets of F1’s, skimmers and tench to 40lb being caught on expander fished over micros. Best pegs are 2 – 4, 12, 15 – 19, 27 – 29, 43 – 46 and 54 – 60.

GEARYS Gearys is fishing hard at the moment with skimmers providing the bulk of the action with nets to 20lb. There are a few carp showing but not in any numbers and the odd fish into double figures coming out. Popped up bread is accounting for the few carp that are being caught. Pole fished expander over ground bait is the best tactic for skimmers. Best areas are on pegs 7 – 11, 30 – 33 and 36.

LITTLE GEARYS Match weights to 50lb this week with the sport improving as the weather gets milder. Top tactics have been either the pellet feeder with 4mm expander, dead maggot or meat on the hook or long pole with pellet over micros. F1’s and skimmers are providing the bulk of the action but the odd tench and bigger carp starting to show. Best pegs 3, 7 – 11, 17 and 24 – 29.

GRATUITIES The tench have started to get their heads down with fish to 5lb in bags to 40lb+. Pole with caster or pellet is working best for tench. The carp are coming to feeder tactics fished up to the island with punched bread, meat or pellet taking fish to 8lb. Best pegs are 1, 5, 8, 9, 11 and 15.

ANNIVERSARIES Good this week with pleasure anglers reporting mixed nets to 40lb+ with carp, F1’s, skimmers and tench coming to pole fished pellet. The deeper areas have been best with the fish sitting in the open rather than up to the island. The best pegs have been 4, 6, 9, 17, 21 and 23.

WILLOW Decent sport being had all round the pool with mixed nets of F1’s, carp and skimmers coming to pole fished corn or pellet.

REEDY BAY/FIRST BAY/CRESCENT AND ALDER All of the small pools have been in fine form over the past week with carp, tench, skimmers and roach showing on all of them. Float fished corn, pellet or caster has been accounting for the better action.
