POOL REPORTS FOR THE WEEK ENDING 26th February 2012

With the break in the weather conditions and the temperature rising, the fishing has burst into life with match weights exceeding 100lb and pleasure anglers have reported mixed bags up to 70lb of fish. Maggot and pellet are still the best baits. A couple of anglers have started to try a bit of paste and it has been working so far.

Top Pool
Plenty of silvers to be had on maggot, ide, skimmers, roach and perch
Pellet on the deck at 6-8m and to the island for f1’s.

Bottom Pool
Pellet at 6m to 8m has been producing f1’s and silverfish.
Pleasure anglers have reported large bags of perch up to 3lb being caught on chopped worm.

House Pool
Red maggot at 8m on the deck has been producing large bags of silverfish and f1 carp.
Pellet at 6m or 8m down on the deck for mixed bags of f1’s, bream, roach and carp.
Congratulations to Andy Searle who won the Wednesday open match from peg 31. He fished pellet over to the island and at 6m for a bag of all f1 weighing in at 53-3.

Extension pool
White maggot at 4m to 6m on the deck with constant feeding has been catching large bags of f1 carp, skimmers and roach.
Pellet at 10, to 12m towards the island for f1’s up to 2.5lb

New Pool
Pellet and maggot have been the best baits on this lake long to the island or @ 6m and down the edges. F1’s and plenty of skimmers and roach are being caught.
The introduction of the stockies, has stimulated the f1’s into feeding.
Pleasure anglers have reported mixed bags f1’s and stockies to 70lb on 4mm pellet over micro pellet on the deck.

Canal Pool
In general pellet and maggot are the best baits at 6-8m and across to the island.
Mirrors and Commons are feeding and pleasure anglers are reporting f1’s up to 2lb
Good bags of silvers being caught.
Congratulations to Pete Bennett who narrowly missed out wining the Sunday open match. He fished peg 13 and had a bag of 98-13 of f1 carp. Pete caught over to the point of the island and at 11m down the left hand edge.

Club Pool
Pellet to the island over micro pellet for f1’s, mirrors, roach & bream.
Stockies and f1’s at 4-10m down the track on pellet.
Pellet or maggot at 6-8m has been working well.
Congratulations to Pete Caton who won the Friday Flyer from peg 19 with a eight of 118lb. He fished to the island for f1’s on pellet over micro pellet on the deck.

Jenny’s Pool
Pellet or maggot to the island or at 6-8m down the track has been producing good bags of f1’s, silvers and mirrors.
Congratulations to Steve Harris who fished peg 8 and won the Sunday open with a weight of 100-8. His bag consisted of f1’s and mirrors to 3lb. He fished pellet to the island and down the right hand edge.
