REPORT

MOLANDS   Carp to over 10lb, tench to 6lb, bream to 5lb and crucians to 3lb have all featured in catches in the last week.  Evening times are best with the fish moving close in the near margin and paste or pellet fished down the edge has been working well.  In the matches, pellet feeder with polony meat, banded pellet or bread punch on the hook has been the winning tactic.  Best pegs are 1 – 4, 18 – 21, 29 – 31, 44 – 46 and 54 – 60.

GEARYS   In very good form through the week with some excellent bags of carp and bream being caught.  Fishery manager John Burchell, had 95lb of mainly skimmers in the three hour Monday evening match and these all came to paste fished down the near margin at 3 metres.  The bigger fish are definitely patrolling close in and feeding better in the evening with carp to 16lb reported.  Best pegs are 9 – 13, 16 – 20, 23 and 27 – 31.

LITTLE GEARYS   The top pool at the moment with match weights to 128lb recorded this week and every peg capable of producing lots of fish, F1’s to 4lb, carp to 4lb, tench, skimmers, roach and crucians all very obliging at the moment.  Best tactics are either shallow pole with worm or pellet/feeder to the island with meat, worm or banded pellet on the hook.  Top pegs are 9 – 13, 19 – 22 and 23 – 27.

GRATUITIES   This pool is very popular at the moment with lots of tench showing along with carp to 4lb and crucians.   Pole fished pellet, paste or meat has been the most effective tactic fished close in or out at 6 – 10 metres.  Best pegs are 1 – 3, 8, 9 and
15 and 16.

ANNIVERSARIES    This pleasure fished only pool has been in good form with tench, crucians and skimmers providing the bulk of catches with caster, pellet, maggot and corn all accounting for plenty of fish.  The top end, on pegs 1 – 6, has been the most prolific area but fish are being caught all around the pool.

WILLOW   Another very popular pool at the moment with some excellent mixed bags of carp, F1’s, crucians and skimmers coming out to pole fished pellet , corn or meat.  Carp to 14lb reported this week and the bigger samples are being tempted off the top with bread or dog biscuit.

CRESCENT   Fish close in for carp to 10lb with the fish feeding really tight to the bank.  Pellet or paste in 10” water has been the top tactic and fishery regular Jim Green did this, to catch 30 carp to 8lb from the platforms at the bottom end of the pool.
