REPORT

MOLANDS   With some really cold nights last week it was no surprise that he fishing has been a little tougher than of late but saying that  fish are being caught all around with F1’s providing the main action.  Maggot feeder continues to be the outstanding tactic, but as the days got longer more fish are being caught down the inside and close in.  A few carp are also being caught with fish to 15lb weighed in last week.  Best pegs are 2, 6, 15, 23 – 33, 44 – 48 and 56 – 60.

GEARYS   Fished hard this week with the frost putting the carp off the feed.  A few have been caught with bread or pellet fished or the bomb and accounting for fish to double figures.  The skimmer fishing has been good with nets to 30lb+ coming from lots of pegs and maggot over ground bait is the best tactic.

LITTLE GEARYS   A little slow by its own standard with F1’s making up the bulk of the catches.  Maggot feeder is still working but more fish are coming down the edges now, particularly later in the day or on matches.  Maggot or pellet fished in about 3 feet of water is working best close in.  Best pegs are 5, 7 – 12 and 26 – 30.

WILLOW   Carp are being caught close in on some pegs with corn or bread and fish to 10lb have been coming to this.  Plenty of silvers and F1’s are being caught on long pole with pellet or caster and a small waggler fished to the island is working too.

PACKINGTON SOMERS FISHERY

SIBLINGS A & B   All the anglers fishing on both Siblings pools have caught fish with F1’s, ide, skimmers and carp showing.  Pole fished pellet or maggot over micros is the best tactic.

ANNIVERSARIES    Frustratingly it is still the top bay that is producing most of the fish with pegs 1 – 4 having catches to 60lb+.  It is very difficult on all the other areas at the moment.  On the hot pegs, pellet or maggot fished on the pole or a small feeder have been producing lots of fish with F1’s, ide and carp showing there.
