REPORT

MOLANDS Fished very well through the week but the colder nights towards the weekend slowed the action a little. The Wednesday Open saw an average of 56lb per man and a top weight of 92lb which was caught by venue regular Lee Richards from peg 12 and was made up of F1’s in the 1 – 3lb bracket along with a couple of bonus carp of 6lb a piece. The pool has been switching day to day from pole to method/pellet as the top tactic with pellet, corn, meat and even paste catching fish. The best areas have been from pegs 1 – 12, 29, 43 – 48 and 52 – 60.

GEARYS Carp showing all around the pool with lead and bread accounting for the bigger fish and carp to 17lb have been weighed in during matches this week. Pole and corn are also catching carp fished down the margin or toward any feature. Good nets of skimmers also coming out with pole fished pellet accounting for bags to 40lb+. The best areas have been from pegs 7 – 13, 16, 17, 21, 30 – 33 and 36.

LITTLE GEARYS Various tactics have been working well on Little Gearys with long pole, method feeder to the island, paste down the near margin and shallow caster or pellet all winning or framing in matches. F1’s and skimmers making up the catches but this week there have been more carp in the 3 – 5lb bracket caught. Best pegs are 7 – 15, 21, 24 and 27 – 29.

GRATUITIES This pool is unpredictable at the moment with one day fishing really well and the next quite different. Long pole with caster or pellet has been the most consistent method but a small pellet feeder with punched bread or pellet has accounted for some decent nets to. Best pegs are 1 – 4, 8, 11, 15 and 16.

ANNIVERSARIES Pleasure anglers fishing for bites have had good mixed nets of skimmers, small carp, tench, roach and a few small barbel. Maggot, pellet or caster is producing catches to 40lb fishing tight up to the island or features on the pole. Best pegs 1 – 9, 15, 17, and 21 – 23.

WILLOW Corn fished down the margin is catching carp from 2 – 6lb along with tench and F1’s. Long pole or caster is catching lots of skimmers, roach, crucians and F1’s. Best pegs are 1 – 3, 5, 9 and 10.

SIBLINGS The tench are starting to wake up on Siblings with fish to 5lb coming to bread or corn fished over micro pellets. The same tactics are also accounting for plenty of skimmers and better sized bream to 3lb. The middle is the best area fishing best up to the reed bed.
