FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 13/11/11

Last week 104 rods caught 250 fish for an average of 2.45 per rod.

A mixed week with fishing very good one day and harder the next and the boat anglers enjoyed the better success.

The best fish of the week was a 6lb 12oz rainbow caught by Howard Smith of Warwick who was fishing from the bank on Cocks Close and took it on a small Diawl Bach fished on a floating line.  Mr J Shemmell of Stourbridge caught eight fish including rainbows at 6lb and 4lb 8oz whilst fishing Cocks Close and these came to either olive Gold Heads or orange Blob flies.

Andrew Moulder of Dorridge caught seven fish whilst fishing from a boat on Great Pool with the biggest going 5lb and they all fell to a Cats whisker Lure fished on an intermediate line.  Mr a Miles caught a five fish limit from a boat on the Park Meadow pool and these came to a small bead head Appetizer.

The best patterns have been Cats Whisker, black Tadpole, orange Fritz, Blobs, Gold Head Damsel, black Buzzer, Diawl Bach and Bloodworm.

The best areas on Cocks Close have been the road bank and the high bank.  On the Great Pool, the bank nearest the boat jetty has been best with the deeper water in the middle fishing well on Park Meadow.
