FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 30/10/11

Last week 115 rods caught 320 fish for an average of 2.78 per rod.

The best fish of the week was a 7lb 8oz rainbow caught by Mr N Baskoth of Coventry who was fishing from a boat on Cocks Close and he took it on a Cats Whisker Lure fished on an intermediate line.  Matthew Bird of Atherstone fished catch and release from a boat on Cocks Close and caught 12 fish on a small black Buzzer with the biggest going 6¼lb and 5¾lb.  Mr C Aynsley of Stoke caught a 7lb from the bank of Cocks Close and this came to a black Tadpole.  Robert White of Lapworth fished the bank of Cocks Close and caught six fish to 5lb 7oz on a small Sawyers P T Nymph fished on a floating line.

On the members’ water Great Pool, Andrew Moulder of Dorridge caught seven fish whilst fishing from a boat with best going just over 4lb and these were caught on black or red Buzzers.

Generally the fishing has been good this week with the fish spreading out on Cocks Close.  The best areas have been the high bank and old boat jetty area but fish are being caught all around the pool.  On the Great Pool, the shallow water to the left of the jetty is best.

The top patterns are Cats Whisker, black Tadpole, orange Blob, P T Nymph, Damsel Nymph, Bloodworm and black or olive Buzzers.
