REPORT

MOLANDS    The very warm weather saw a lot of carp being caught off the top with local angler Anthony Sheriff of Chelmsley Wood catching 24 fish from 7lb – 12lb on floating bread from peg 1.  Match weights to over 60lb caught this week with the better catches coming from the early pegs 1 – 10 and the far bank pegs from 55 – 60.  F1’s and carp on pellet have provided the bulk of catches.

GEARYS   The last couple of hours in the day have been the best time to fish with the carp moving down the margin and anglers have caught well on paste or pellet which has accounted for fish to 18lb.  In matches, catches to over 70lb were taken this week with the straight lead and pellet or method feeder and meat working best.  The best pegs have been from 9 – 13 on the high bank and 19 – 27 at the shallow end of the pool.

LITTLE GEARYS    Fishing the best of all the pools with lots of F1’s and skimmers, carp and roach being caught.  Anglers practising for the County Championships final reported nets approaching 100lb with shallow pellet fished at 13 metres or short pole with pellet, caster or chopped worm the best tactics.  Best pegs have been 7 – 11, 17 – 21 and 26 – 29.

GRATUITIES    Still not fishing as well as it should with the pool very peggy at the moment.  Catches to over 50lb were caught with carp, tench and chub providing the better catches and pegs 1, 9, 15 and 16 have been in the best form with pellet or meat fished on the pole.

ANNIVERSARIES    The point at the top end of the pool has been fishing well with pegs 1, 3, 6 and 9 in good form and carp in the 1 – 3lb bracket along with a few bigger fish to 15lb caught.  Tench, skimmers and crucians also showing around the pool and the best tactic has been pole fished paste, pellet or meat.

WILLOW    This pool is fishing very well with lots of carp from 2 – 3lb and a few bigger ones coming out.  There have been plenty of skimmers, crucians and tench also showing.  Pole and pellet down the track for mixed nets either fed to the island or pellet close to the reed beds have been the best tactics.  Top pegs are 1, 5, 6, 9 and 11.

SIBLINGS    Lots of carp showing at the top end of the pool with peg 1 particularly good at the moment providing fish into double figures on meat or pellet fished down the road side.  The reed bed area on the far side has also been fishing well with carp and tench coming out in numbers.
