REPORT
MOLANDS   The cold weather has slowed sport this week with winter tactics now starting to work best.  The F1’s are coming to expander pellet or hard pellet fished over a small amount of micros or 4mm.  Surprisingly the tench have been a lot more evident on some areas responding to caster loose fed down the first shelf with fish to 6lb in nets to 30lb+.  The best tactic for carp is bomb and bread popped up and fished close to the island with fish to double figures falling to this.  Best pegs are 2, 6 – 12, 15, 25, 31, 42 – 46 and 58 – 60.

GEARYS   The fishing has been pretty hard this week with catches to just over 30lb winning matches.  The frosts really affect sport on Gearys as it is quite shallow but normally settles down as water temperatures evens out.  The best catches this week have been made up of three or four carp with a few skimmers and pole fished corn or pellet as the best tactic.  Best areas are 6 – 13, 16, 19, 20, 29 – 32 and 36.

LITTLE GEARYS   There have been match weights to 50lb during the week, but like the other pools, was affected by the frosts at the weekend.  The shallow pole with pellet still working best with a small method feeder up to the island a good back up tactic.  Best pegs are along the far bank with pegs 7 – 13 in the most consistent form.

GRATUITIES   Long pole with worm and caster is the best tactic at the moment catching mixed nets to over 50lb by pleasure anglers.  Waggler with corn or bread is a tactic that is coming into its own on Gratuities with the carp in particular coming to this.  Best pegs 1, 4, 8, 9, 15 and 16.
ANNIVERSARIES   Still providing good mixed bags with caster, maggot or expander pellet fished over ground bait working well for skimmers, small carp, tench, crucians and even the odd small barbel.  The back bank from pegs 17 – 23 is the best area.
WILLOW   Anglers fishing for bites are having the best results on maggot or expander pellet providing plenty of skimmers, crucians and F1’s.  The carp are coming best to corn or bread fished down the near margin or right up to the island.
