REPORT
MOLANDS   The high pressure and generally calm conditions have made sport on Molands very patchy with good catches are to be had from some areas and difficult fishing in others.  Match weights to over 100lb are still being recorded though and some quality fish bags caught with carp to nearly 20lb and F1’s to over 6lb showing.  Natural baits such as maggot or caster are starting to come into their own fished down the first shelf or tight into the margins for mainly F1’s but carp, skimmers and crucians are also figuring.  Pellet waggler or bomb and pellet tight up to the island are best for the bigger carp.  Top pegs are 2 – 10, 13, 15, 23, 33, 44 – 48 and 57 – 60.
GEARYS   Bomb and candle with 8mm pellet is working best in matches for carp from
4 – 10lb with the odd double figure fish too.  Caster, maggot or expander pellet fished on the pole is catching mixed bags of skimmers, crucians, tench and the odd bonus carp with nets to 40lb+ being caught on this.  As the weather turned cooler, the high bank from pegs 6 – 13 has been the most consistent area with 18 – 20 and 31 – 33 also worth a try.
LITTLE GEARYS   Fished a little harder this week with match weights to 60lb best.  The high pressure has seen the fish moving about on the top but difficult to catch with the top methods being jigger or pole and pellet shallow for F1’s from 1 – 4lb.  A small pellet or method feeder fished tight into the island is also worth a trying at the moment with dead reds or meat the best hook baits.  Top pegs are 3, 5, 7 – 11, 21 and 25 – 27.
GRATUITIES   The carp have been all over the top with the bright sunny conditions and surface fishing or pellet waggler the best way of catching them and fish to double figures have shown this week.  There have also been plenty of crucians, small carp and tench caught on long pole with pellet or caster.
WILLOW   Always very popular, Willow has been in decent form over the past week with carp to 15lb and plenty in the 2 – 6lb range, F1’s to 3lb, tench, crucians and the odd chub to 2lb coming out.  Pellet waggler or pellet feeder to the island are the top tactics and surface fishing with bread the best approach for carp.
SIBLINGS A   Pole fished worm, meat or banded hard pellet has been the best approach with carp to 5lb and F1’s coming to this.  Fishing tight up to the island but coming down the margins later in the day.  Top pegs 1 – 5, 12 – 15 and 21.
SIBLINGS B   Mainly F1’s caught but anglers have been getting plenty of bites on all areas.  Long pole with pellet the main tactic but worm has accounted for some better quality fish with carp in the 2 – 4lb range coming to this.
ANNIVERSARIES   It has been F1’s from 8oz – 1½lb being caught but the sport has been good on Anniversaries with all pegs producing plenty of fish.  Pole and pellet, maggot or caster fished over micro pellets have been the best tactics fishing into the open water.  Best pegs are 2, 6, 8, 15, 21 and 23.
