REPORT

MOLANDS First signs of the fish wanting to start spawning this week after the warm conditions during the middle of the week. The F1s have been very erractic and patchy with corn and meat down the margins being the best tactics for them and fish to 7lb have come in weights to nearly 100lb. The carp have been a little more obliging and pellet waggler, bomb/pellet or method fished tight to the island have accounted for fish to nearly 20lb. Best pegs have been 1 – 4, 10, 15, 21 – 25, 29, 39 – 45 and 56 – 60.

GEARYS Fished well through the week with carp in nets to over 100lb including some very large fish to high double figures. Bomb and pellet/boilies or corn down the margins have been the best tactic. The skimmers and bream have started to spawn this week and nets have been lower than previous weeks but bags to 30lb have been caught on the pole with caster/maggot or expander pellet. Top pegs 9 – 13, 19 – 23, 27, 31 and 41.

LITTLE GEARYS Little Gearys has fished hard this week with the F1s really shutting up shop and catches to 70lb have been best. Maggot or caster fished down the margins has been best tactic in matches. Carp are showing in numbers to make up for the F1s and 6mm pellet fished across on the plopper or waggler has been the most successful tactic for these.

GRATUITIES Carp are being caught on a small method or waggler fished tight to the island with fish in the 2 – 4lb bracket mainly but the odd bigger fish to double figures are also showing. On the pole, mixed nets of crucians, skimmers, roach, tench and the odd carp are coming to worm/caster or expander pellet fished down the middle.
WILLOW Always popular, Willow has been in decent form for most of the week with carp and F1s providing most of the action. Tight to the island with waggler or pole (on the pegs that you can reach) with pellet on the deck fished shallow has been the best tactic. Good nets are being caught later in the day fishing down the margins with meat or corn.

SIBLINGS A (Doughnut) A little patchy but fishing caster or maggot is accounting for lots of ide, skimmers, F1s and the odd tench so anglers are getting plenty of bites. The carp are being caught down the margins with meat the best bait for the bigger fish.

SIBLINGS B (Horseshoe) Lots of F1s are being caught with pegs 3 – 10 the best at the moment and pleasure anglers have reported catching ‘a fish a chuck’ on some days. Pellet or maggot on the pole or a small feeder on the wider pegs have been best.

ANNIVERSARIES Probably the most consistent pool at the moment with lots of F1s being caught along with plenty of the 3 – 4lb bream. Pole fished pellet, caster or maggot fished over ground bait is the top tactic and the best pegs have been 2 – 6, 10, 15 and 17 – 23.
