REPORT

MOLANDS Still very patchy this week but match weights exceeding 100lb and there were some cracking carp caught with quite a few 15lb+ specimens caught. Pellet feeder, method feeder and waggler with pellet to the island have all caught carp in matches. Pleasure anglers have caught well on floating baits such dog biscuit or bread. The F1s are still very patchy but are now starting to come shallow with caster or pellet at 13 metres the best tactic. Best pegs have been 2, 13 – 21, 29 – 31, 42 – 48 and 52 – 54.

GEARYS It was fishing well through the week with nets to over 100lb best but after the rain at the weekend sport dropped. Bomb and pellet has been the best tactic for carp to high double figures with a method feeder also worth a try. The high bank area has been the best for mixed catches of skimmers, crucians and small carp with catches to 50lb coming to pole fished corn, meat and worm/caster fished over ground bait at five to ten metres.

LITTLE GEARYS Match weights to over 90lb but pleasure anglers reported much larger catches with F1s and carp showing all around the pool. A small method/pellet feeder fished to the island with banded pellet or dead red maggot, long pole with pellet/caster/shallow and meat or corn down the margins have all worked well this week. Best pegs have been 3 – 10, 15, 17, 21 and 24 – 28.

GRATUITIES The crucians have been showing in large numbers with catches to 50lb made up of fish in the 12½oz – 1¼lb range coming to pole with caster or soft pellet. Carp to double figures have come to pellet waggler or off the top with floating baits. Best pegs have been
1 – 3, 8 – 11 and 15.

SIBLINGS A This pool is in cracking form this week with some really good mixed nets of carp, F1s, ide, skimmers and tench. Pole fished paste or chopped worm and caster has been the best tactic with a small pellet feeder also worth a go.

SIBLINGS B Not as good as the previous week but still decent sport to be had, mainly from F1s but a few more carp, crucians and tench have been showing this week. Pole fished pellet or caster shallow has been the most affective tactic but on the wider pegs a pellet feeder is also worth a try.

ANNIVERSARIES Still a little patchy but there were signs of improvement this week with pleasure anglers reporting bags to 60lb of F1s with the odd decent bream and bigger carp. The top end on pegs 1 – 6 and 21 – 23 have been the best areas with pole fished caster, pellet or worm the top tactics.

WILLOW In good form this week with lots of carp, F1s and crucians being caught from all pegs. Pole fished paste was possibly the best tactic fishing close in down the edges or at five metres. Pellet waggler or a pellet feeder fished to the island has also worked well.
