REPORT

MOLANDS A very up and down week with match catches to 130lb+ in the week but much harder fishing at the weekend. The best tactics have been fishing across to the island with bomb and pellet/method feeder with dead reds or pellet on the hook for the carp and F1s or down the margins with caster for big F1s. Best areas have been pegs 2, 10, 12, 19 – 25, 29 – 31, 41 – 46 and 54 – 60.

GEARYS A tough week on Gearys with the carp switching off a bit from the previous week and catches to around 90lb best. The bigger carp have been showing with fish to 18lb featuring in catches but it has been hard to put more than five or six fish in the net during matches. Bomb and pellet or method feeder have been the best tactic for carp. Skimmer catches to around 40lb have been caught on pole fished maggot or caster.

LITTLE GEARYS Still not in the best form with the F1s feeding very erratically but weights to over 100lb were caught early in the week with pole fished pellet at five or thirteen metres the best tactic. Corn or meat down the margins is also catching well, particularly in the evening sessions. The fish are following the wind and pegs 3 around to 10 have been the best pegs this week.

GRATUITIES Like all the pools the sport has been very patchy this week. On the warmer days plenty of carp can be seen on the top and they are being caught on shallow tactics or off the top with bread or dog biscuit. Decent nets of bream, crucians, roach and tench to be had on caster or soft pellet.

WILLOW There have been plenty of F1s and smaller carp coming to pellet waggler or ‘plopper’ fished out to the middle island. Shallow pole tactics are also working well for the F1s. The bigger carp are coming off the top or down the margins later in the day and fish to 19lb have been reported this week.

SIBLINGS A (Doughnut) Decent mixed nets of skimmers, ide, roach and F1s are coming to caster or maggot fished down the middle or close into the reeds on the inside. The bigger carp are falling to meat fished tight across to the middle island.

SIBLINGS B (Horseshoe) Lots of F1s are being caught with pole fished pellet or maggot accounting best. The pegs on the end of the pool from 5 – 11 have been producing the best catches with pleasure anglers reporting nets to 80lb.

ANNIVERSARIES The bream have been feeding well on Annies this week with plenty of fish between 3 and 5lb being caught. An amazing catch of 143lb made up of bream and F1s came out from a Club match during the week on peg 23 with chopped worm and caster accounting for the bag. Probably the most consistent pool this week with most pegs producing goods nets.
