There have been lots of anglers in the past week and they have enjoyed good sport most days despite the hot weather seeing the fish starting to spawn again.

The majority of anglers are adhering to the social distancing guidelines and despite the high numbers of visitors there have been few problems to deal with. Anglers are reminded that they must not travel to the fishery if they are showing symptoms of Coronavirus and must only come alone or with members of their immediate family.

FISHERY REPORT

MOLANDS The carp started to spawn in the middle of the week and the fishing was patchy after that. Good nets of carp and F1s have been caught with surface or shallow fishing providing the best action. Pegs around the 40s’and 50s’ have been the most consistent areas.

GEARYS Anglers have reported catching up to 40 carp in a day with most of them around the double figure mark. Pellet waggler, shallow pole with pellet (slapping) and bomb with boilies and pellet have been the top tactics.

LITTLE GEARYS Probably the most consistent of all the pools with F1s and carp feeding all round the pool. Corn, meat or pellet fished down the margins has been the top tactic but pellet feeder, method feeder or waggler to the island have also had good results.

ANNIVERSARIES There have been good reports from anglers with F1s showing all around the pool coming to corn, pellet or maggot and carp coming to surface baits, particularly on the early pegs 1 – 9.

WILLOW Always popular, Willow has been fishing very well this week with carp to double figures, F1s, skimmers, crucians and the odd tench showing. Waggler or pole to the island or down the edges with paste or corn over micros have been working well.

SIBLINGS A Paste or pellet are the top baits on ‘A’ with carp to double figures and F1s providing the main action. Fishing maggots shallow has also produced decent nets of ide and F1s.

SIBLINGS B This pool has been fishing very well with anglers reporting catches up to 100+ F1s and paste on the deck or shallow has worked really well. Pellet and corn are also worth a try.

GRATUITIES A bit patchy but if you get it right it has been brilliant fishing with anglers reporting catches of up to 50 carp from 2 – 10lb with corn over micros fishing down the margins working best. Pegs 1, 8, 9 and 16 have been the best pegs.
