REPORT

MOLANDS    Still fishing pretty well with match weights to nearly 70lb made up of mainly F1’s and skimmers with the odd bigger carp.  The water is still quite clear for the time of year so a more cautious approach is working better.  Small method feeder or pellet feeder fished down the first shelf are working best.  Best pegs are 2, 8, 12, 19, 23, 29 – 33, 43, 48 and 55 – 58.

GEARYS    The five hour match lake record was caught on Sunday during the Royal Oak club match, Wayne Sharman of Coventry caught 163lb 5oz which consisted of
30 carp to 10lb from peg 13, this came to a method feeder with dead red maggots on the hook.  Generally the fishing has been very good with plenty of carp showing well all around the pool and method feeder or straight lead and 8mm pellet have worked best.  Top pegs are 1, 6, 9 – 13, 19, 21, 29 and 31 – 36.

LITTLE GEARYS    Fishing very well this week with catches coming from all around the pool.  F1’s to 5lb, bream to 4lb and carp to 6lb featuring in catches with match weights to 70lb and pleasure anglers reporting much bigger bags.  Shallow pole and pellet and pellet feeder fished to the island are the best tactics.  Top pegs are 1, 7, 9 – 15 and 27 – 29.

GRATUITIES    The corner pegs on 1, 9, 15 and 16 have all been in good form with nets of carp and tench coming to pole fished pellet or meat.  On the other pegs a small method fished up to the island is working best.

WILLOW    Peg for peg the most popular pool on the fishery at the moment with good mixed catches of F1’s, carp, tench and skimmers coming to either a small pellet feeder fished up to the island on pole fished pellet or corn.

SIBLINGS   Some big bags of tench were caught last week with anglers reporting catching up to 25 fish from 2 – 4lb with corn or meat fished down the near margin working best also successful.  Mixed nets of skimmers, crucians and roach coming to pellet fished on a bed of micros or ground bait.  The top end of the pool on pegs 1 – 4 and 16 – 20 have been best.

RIVER BLYTHE   The river dropped to a fishable level over the past week and anglers have enjoyed decent sport with roach, chub and perch coming to caster or maggot.
