FISHING REPORT

MOLANDS Carp anglers have enjoyed the best of the action on Molands this week with anglers fishing at night catching plenty of double figure fish and the odd 20lb specimen with boilies fished tight across to the island or down the near margin. In the matches nets to around 100lb were best and again fishing tight up to the island with method/pellet feeder, waggler and bomb which has accounted for the better nets. Short pole with pellet also worth a try.

GEARYS A little patchy this week with the fish still wanting to feed shallow or on the top but are tricky to catch. In the matches pinging 8mm pellets and fishing a waggler or bomb over the top has been working best with long pole and pellet shallow or on the deck also catching a few carp. The silver fish are still showing well along the high bank with nets of skimmers to around 50lb caught this week. Carp anglers have caught fish to over 20lb on boilies with a PVA bag fished out to the middle stumps.

LITTLE GEARYS Still not at its most prolific best but pleasure anglers reporting nets to 100lb+ this week with match weights to around 70lb. A small method or pellet feeder tight to the island with a waggler or expander pellet has been the top tactic but shallow pole and pellet and margin fishing with meat or dead maggot has also been productive. The pegs on the straights, either side from 7 – 15 and 23 – 29 have been the most consistent.

GRATUITIES Some nice carp to upper double figures have been coming to surface baits along with plenty from 4 – 10lb. Nice mixed nets from all around the pool with F1s, smaller carp, crucians, tench and skimmers being caught on maggot, caster or pellet fished down the middle of the pool.

WILLOW A little slower this week but nice nets of F1s and carp still being caught. A small feeder or waggler tight up to the island on long pole with pellet or maggot on the deck and shallow have been working best.

ANNIVERSARIES The top end of the pool from pegs 1 – 10 has been the best area with plenty of F1s being caught around there along with a few carp to double figures. Pole fished pellet has been best but caster and maggot are also working at the moment.

SIBLINGS A Dropped off a little this week with the F1s slowing up but there were still plenty of nice carp being caught in nets to 70lb. Corn, meat or worm fishing down the margins has been the best tactic but pellet/waggler shallow or across tight to the island are still worth a try.

SIBLINGS B Steady but not as prolific as the last few weeks with nets to around 70lb winning in matches and pleasure anglers are catching more, particularly later in the day. Paste, pellet short, maggot or caster shallow and caster tight across to the reeds have all worked reasonably well this week.
