FISHING REPORT

MOLANDS Fished a little better this week with the f1s showing on a lot of pegs along with the new stockies and a few larger carp into double figures. Nets to over 90lb were recorded in matches with long pole with banded hard 4 or 6mm pellet, worm and maggots catching on this line or later in the day maggots over groundbait down the margins. Method feeder or waggler to the island is also catching a few fish.

GEARYS A much Quieter week on Gearys with the carp sport slowing a touch as the water cools. Carp anglers have had fish to 18lb in catches of up to 10 fish with boilies on a small PVA bag fished out to the middle posts working best. In the matches nets to 70lb were best with banded hard pellet on the pole or bomb or bomb and punched bread. Silvers nets to around 25lb also being caught on maggot over groundbait.

LITTLE GEARYS The straights on either side of the pool from 5-13 and 23-30 have been the better pegs this week and nets to over 70lb were caught. Long pole with pellet, caster or maggot, either shallow or on the ‘deck’,method feeder with small wafters, waggler or bomb with 6mm pellet fished up to the island and down the margins with maggot, caster or banded pellet have all worked this week.

GRATUITIES Still Fishing a little tougher as the water is starting to go a little clear. Silvers providing the best chance of sport with skimmers, roach, perch and chub showing to maggot or caster fished on the waggler or pole.

ANNIVERSARIES The top pegs have been up the top bays from 1-8 and 15-17 at the other end. The new stockies are showing well along with f1s to 4lb. Pole fished pellet or maggot has been the most consistent approach but on the more open areas a small pellet feeder ,bomb with pellet or waggler with pellet/ maggots has also been going well.

SIBLINGS A Fished well this week but still a little hit and miss with nets to over 90lb. F1s to 6lb were the main target being caught but there were new stockies and some bonus larger carp also showing. Short pole with maggot has been the top tactic but dobbing bread or corn along the island and down the margins with dead reds or pellet has also been worth a go.

SIBLINGS B A lot tougher this week as the water starts going clearer with catches to 50lb best with mostly F1s in the 1 – 3lb range making up the catches. Caster or maggot fished on a short pole or down the margins has been the way to go. Dobbing bread along the far bank has accounted for a few carp and bigger F1s.

WILLOW Nice nets of carp, F1s and silvers are coming to maggot fished on the waggler or pole. The bigger carp are being caught down the margins with fish to 16lb featuring in catches and worm, corn or dead maggot over ground bait has been the best approach.
