FISHING REPORT

MOLANDS The weather was much milder last week and we saw an upturn in sport with fish caught from all areas. Carp to 21lb, f1s to 8lb ,bream to 5lb and tench to 4lb featured in catches and match weight in excess of 100lb were caught. In the matches waggler or bomb with 8mm hard pellet ,method feeder and pole with expander over micros were the top tactics. The carp anglers found boilies fished over a PVA bag was working best and a lot of fish from 10-20lb came to this.

GEARYS Gearys fished really well last week with carp and skimmers showing all across the pool. In the matches, nets to over 110lb were caught and bomb with 8mm pellet was the top tactic but down the margins late on saw some big fish come to pole and corn or dead maggot. Silver fish nets to nearly 40lb, made up mainly of skimmers were coming to pole fished maggot, pinkies or worm.

LITTLE GEARYS Fished a lot better all around the pool with weights to over 80lb were recorded this week. F1s and carp made up the bulk of catches and the better nets were caught by fishing down the margins with maggot, waggler or bomb with pellet to the island also accounted for some decent nets.

GRATUITIES A lot better this week with anglers enjoying good mixed nets with carp to double figures, f1s and some quality silvers. Pole fished maggot, caster or expander pellet will give you a lot of bites with the bigger carp coming to corn or worm down the margins

ANNIVERSARIES Fishing ok again this week with F1s and small carp showing on most pegs and nets to 45lb+ possible from all pegs. Maggot or pellet fished on the pole up to the islands or features and bomb/waggler with 6mm hard pellet have been the best tactics.

SIBLINGS A Fished well with pleasure anglers catching nets to over 70lb this week and carp to double figures and F1s to 5lb making up the better catches. Pole fished bread dobbed around the island and short with maggot or pellet have been the best tactic, Some anglers had a few on shallow tactics too

SIBLINGS B A little better this week on Siblings ‘B’ with nets to around 50lb best but plenty of F1s in the 1 – 2lb range being caught. Pellet or maggot fished long and short on the pole has been the best way and on the wider pegs a small maggot or method feeder can work well.

WILLOW Catches to 70lb this week with mainly F1s, small carp and skimmers showing. Waggler with pellet or maggot, long pole with pellet and corn down the margins have been the best tactics.
