FISHING REPORT

MOLANDS Like all the pools last week there were flurries of spawning activity which adversely affected the catches. Despite this, good nets were taken with the ‘stockies’ carp showing in areas along with F1s to 9lb and carp to 21lb 6oz. Feeder to the island, waggler or bomb and pellet and down the margins with corn or big pellets have been best in matches. Carp anglers have caught some off the top during the day and in the evening and night with boilies on the bottom.

GEARYS Fished a little harder than of late with nets to 100lb caught but it has been patchy. In the matches, ‘slapping’ or ‘mugging’ with pellet, method feeder to the middle stumps and pellet fished tight up to any of the islands have been the best tactics. Carp anglers fishing big method feeders or boilies over PVA bags have caught fish to 20lb.

LITTLE GEARYS Steady sport this week with match weights to 100lb+ but decent nets caught all around the pool. Carp featured a lot more this week with fish to 18lb and plenty in the
6 – 10lb range showing along with F1s to 8lb. The fish want to be against the island or down the inside margins so method feeder or waggler with pellet fished across and dead maggot over ground bait and pellet down the edges has been the best approach. Caster fished shallow still working but not as prolific as it was.

GRATUITIES Pleasure anglers fishing on the top have enjoyed the best of the action on Grats with fish into double figures coming to dog biscuit or bread. Silver fish and F1s are being caught on maggot or soft pellet down the middle.

ANNIVERSARIES Nets to around 50lb reported by pleasure angles with pole fished pellet or caster up in the water best but a small feeder or bomb and pellet on the more open pegs have also worked. A few bigger carp up to 17lb have been reported off the top.

SIBLINGS A Fished ok with plenty of carp from 2 – 10lb being caught and F1s to 5lb. ‘Mugging’ working well for the better carp but also fishing tight to the island with dead maggot over ground bait or 6mm pellet. The F1s are coming to maggot or pellet fished shallow down the middle.

SIBLINGS B Good consistent action with lots of F1s from 1 – 4lb, carp to 8lb and silver fish coming to pole fished maggot, caster or pellet fished tight or down the margins.

WILLOW Willow slowed down due to spawning but some nice nets of carp being caught off the top on dog biscuit or oily floaters. Long pole with pellet fished shallow and on the ‘deck’ has accounted for some nice nets of F1s to 6lb. Waggler to the island fished with pellet is also worth a try.
