FISHING REPORT

MOLANDS The warm weather has seen the fish spawning in the mornings but by the end of the week it had settled down and was fishing reasonably well with match weights to 140lb and pleasure anglers exceeding that if they fished into the evenings. Method feeder and meat or wafter to the island the top tactic but bomb/waggler with pellet and corn over micros fished down the margins also worked. Pleasure anglers have caught fish to 20lb off the top with dog biscuit or bread and a lot of doubles have been caught fishing corn or big pellets really tight later in the day.

GEARYS The carp finished spawning early in the week and the fishing steadily improved after. Match weights to 100lb were caught with pole fished pellet tight up to the islands, bomb with 8mm pellet and ‘mugging’ tactics accounting for the better catches.Pleasure anglers enjoyed good surface sport with oily floaters , dog biscuit or bread and on the deck with red fruity boilies fished over PVA bags.

LITTLE GEARYS We hosted the guru/mainline baits/WH Lane festival on little Gearys all week and the pool did not disappoint with many weights over 100lb topped by the 238lb net caught by Guru angler Brandon George from peg 3. Caster shallow was the top tactic but method feeder to the island ,pellet waggler and down the margins with caster, worm or pellet also accounted for some quality nets.

GRATUITIES Surface tactics with dog biscuit or bread have accounted for the bigger carp with fish to 18lb reported this week. A small feeder or waggler to the island with corn or pellet on the hook has been the best way to catch carp in the 3 – 8lb range. Lovely nets of silvers coming to caster or maggot with nets to 30lb coming out.

ANNIVERSARIES Still fishing a little tough this week with nets to around 50lb best. Pole fished caster, maggot or pellet on the deck or shallow has been the best approach. Carp to double figures were coming to worm or corn fished down the edges later in the day.

SIBLINGS A Nets to 80lb with decent back up catches from all around the pool. Dead maggot fished over ground bait to the island has been the top tactic but caster fished shallow and corn or maggot down the margins is also working.

SIBLINGS B Fished well this week with match weights to over 180lbs. Far bank and near margins have been the best areas to fish with F1s from 2-5lb and small carp making up the catches. Dead maggot, caster shallow, pellet and corn have been the top baits.

WILLOW Always very popular Willow has been in decent form this week with pleasure nets to 100lb reported featuring carp to 15lb and f1s to 7lb.Feeder to the island with wafters or small banded pellet, waggler with pellet and surface fishing with pellet or dog biscuit on the candle have allaccounted for good nets last week.
