FISHING REPORT

MOLANDS Carp anglers are enjoying good sport with numerous 20lb+ fish coming out along with lots of doubles. Boilies on a PVA bag has scored well fishing across to the island and down the margins. In the matches, nets to 70lb were best and it is still a little patchy. Method feeder or waggler with pellet to the island, long pole shallow with caster or pellet and down the margins with maggot, worm or big pellets have all caught fish. The most consistent pegs have been
1 – 10, 27 – 33 and 41 – 48.

GEARYS Still in very good form with nets to 120lb this week and good back up catches from all around the pool. Bomb and pellet, method feeder to the middle stumps, short pole with 8mm pellet or down the margins with dead maggot over ground bait have all been working well for carp up to 18lb. The silver fish sport has been really good with skimmers to 3lb and roach to 1lb in nets to 50lb coming to worm, caster or maggot fished over ground bait with the high bank in particular good form.

LITTLE GEARYS Catches close to 200lb were caught this week with the bigger carp showing well down the margins and later in the day with F1s to 6lb. Top tactics have been a small method or pellet feeder to the island, shallow pole with pellet and down the edges with worm, pellet or caster fished over micro pellets or ground bait. Best pegs have been 7 – 15 but nice nets are coming from all around the pool.

GRATUITIES Nice steady fishing has been had fishing maggot, soft pellet or worm over micros with carp to 100lb, F1s to 3lb, skimmers to 3lb, crucians and the odd chub or tench. The milder weather has seen the bigger carp on top and has accounted for fish to 15lb.

ANNIVERSARIES Decent fishing to be had from all around the pool with pegs 2 – 6, 17 and 23 the pick of the pegs. Carp to 6lb, F1s to 5lb, ide to 2lb and plenty of silvers being caught. Best tactics have been long pole with pellet on the ‘deck’ or shallow or in the open water with bomb and 6mm pellet.

SIBLINGS A Some nice carp showing with fish to 15lb featuring in catches up to 70lb. Dead reds or banded hard pellet fished over micros or ground bait out to the island or down the margins with caster, corn or pellet has been the best approach.

SIBLINGS B In decent form with catches of F1s to 100lb+ being caught and consistent action from most pegs. Short pole with paste, pellet or caster and down the margins with caster or worm have been the best tactics.

WILLOW Improving after a few slow weeks but nets to 70lb are being caught along with some nice carp into double figures. Waggler, bomb or method feeder to the island with pellet or wafter on the hook and pole fished paste, corn or worm down the margins have all worked well.
