FISHERY REPORT

MOLANDS The F1s switched off a little and it was the carp that were showing in numbers with weights in matches to around 100lb. There were some cracking fish caught with carp to 20lb featuring in nets along with tench to 6lb, bream to 5lb and F1s to 7lb. Fishing tight up to the far bank island with a method feeder, bomb and pellet or waggler and pellet have been the top tactics during the day. In the evenings, fishing down the margins with pellet, dead reds or caster has worked well.

GEARYS Still very patchy with large numbers of carp showing on some pegs and others nothing at all. Fish to 19lb were weighed in during the matches with reports of bigger samples caught by pleasure anglers. During the hot spell, lots of carp are cruising around on the surface and shallow tactics have accounted for the better catches. During the day, pellet waggler, shallow pole and pellet and dog biscuit on the top have accounted for the decent catches. There have been plenty of skimmers also.

LITTLE GEARYS Like all the pools the F1s are not featuring as well as they could so catches are down on Little Gearys and match weights to around 80lb best this week. Carp to 18lb have been caught off the top and the main tactic for the F1s have been either a pellet/method feeder to the island or shallow pole and pellet/caster. Best areas have been pegs 1 – 10.

ANNIVERSARIES The F1s are showing well on some areas and nets to around 70lb were caught in matches but pleasure anglers reporting bigger catches. There have been some bigger carp showing around pegs 1 – 3 where paste has accounted for fish to 15lb and plenty around the 5 – 10lb mark. The F1s are coming better to shallow tactics on the jigger with caster/pellet working best.

WILLOW Steady sport all week on Willow with carp from 3 – 8lb showing along with lots of F1s around the 2 – 3lb mark and also skimmers, tench and crucians. Float fished corn and paste are doing well for mixed catches but surface baits or down the margins has been best for the carp.

GRATUITIES Some lovely mixed nets of skimmers, crucians, roach, decent perch and the odd carp and tench are coming to float fished caster, soft pellet or corn. The better sized carp are being caught shallow or off the top with dog biscuit or bread.

SIBLINGS A Carp to 15lb have been caught this week along with F1s, ide, skimmers and the odd tench. The bigger carp are coming off the top or shallow with pellet ‘slapped’ in or on the pole. The F1s are responding to paste or corn fished over micros down the edge.

SIBLINGS B A little more consistent than most pools this week with the F1s from 1 – 3lb giving more sport but some decent carp and ide also showing. Pellet fished down the middle to start but bringing them close in as the session goes on has been the top tactic. Corn, meat or paste with the pole are also worth a go at the moment.
