REPORT

MOLANDS In really good form this week with plenty of 100lb+ catches in matches and pleasure anglers enjoying similar success. Pole fished meat close in at five metres or down the margins, long pole with caster shallow and method feeder to the island have all been working well. Carp anglers fishing off the top with floaters or using boilies on the deck have accounted for fish to over 20lb this week. The biggest F1 from Packington was caught on Wednesday weighing 10lb 8oz. Best pegs have been 2, 10 – 15, 21 – 25, 29 – 33, 41 – 49 and 56 – 60.

GEARYS Another pool in top form despite the fish spawning again at the weekend. Match weights to 130lb+ have been caught along with carp to 20lb. 8mm pellets fished on the pole, either on the deck or slapping has been the top tactic but bomb or waggler with big pellets also working well. A pleasure angler fished peg 31 and caught 36 fish between 8 – 17lb using 15mm boilies fished out to the middle stumps on a bomb.

LITTLE GEARYS In good form this week with nets to nearly 160lb and really good back up catches from all around the pool. Carp to 15lb and F1s to 5lb have featured in nets and long pole with pellet or caster has been the top tactic followed by paste on the deck or shallow. A small method fished to the island is also working well fished tight up and expander or dead reds on the hook.

GRATUITIES Plenty of carp in the 3 – 8lb range coming off the top on bread or dog biscuit. Waggler or bomb and pellet fished up to the island is also catching a few carp. Good mixed nets of skimmers, crucians, roach and tench are coming to caster or soft pellet fished down the middle.

WILLOW In terrific form with lots of F1s and carp being caught from all around the pool. Fishing shallow with pellet or caster taking some big bags and a small feeder to the island also working well.

SIBLINGS A In good form with plenty of carp, F1s and ide being caught and shallow tactics were best with pellet, caster or maggot fished down the middle of the pool. Meat or paste fished down the margins also accounting for some good nets as well.

SIBLINGS B Pleasure anglers enjoyed really good sport on Siblings ‘B’ with lots of F1s being caught in the 1 – 3lb range with pole fished pellet or maggot working well on a small feeder to the far bank with pellet or dead reds on the hook. Jigger fishing with pellet also worked well.

ANNIVERSARIES Paste has worked well on Anniversaries with most pegs producing good nets of F1s and small carp but the odd bigger fish to 10lb as well. Shallow pole and pellet also catching well on the jigger float or standard shallow tactics.
