REPORT

MOLANDS The fishing improved as the weather got warmer with the carp showing in bigger numbers along with some big F1s. Weights in matches to over 100lb were caught last week with many good back up weights too. The top tactics have been to fish the pole at 13 metres with pellet or maggot or down the margins with maggot or corn. There were some nice carp caught off the top at the weekend with fish to 15lb coming to floating dog biscuit. Best pegs have been 1 – 4, 10, 25 – 29. 43 – 46 and 52 – 60.

GEARYS The warm weather has got the carp moving and weights have gone up this week. Carp to 18lb have featured in catches with plenty around the 6 – 10lb mark coming out. The top tactics for carp is a method/hybrid feeder with a wafter or big pellet on the hook. Good sport can be had fishing the pole with banded hard pellet, expander or maggot with plenty of skimmers, stockies (carp) and crucians coming to this. Best pegs have been 6, 10 – 13, 18 – 23 and 31 – 35.

LITTLE GEARYS In good form with lots of F1s showing on all areas and nets to over 100lb were caught last weed. Pole and pellet/maggot at 13 metres, either on the deck or shallow has worked well. Fishing down the margins with pellet, maggot or corn is also producing some big nets, particularly later in the day. Most pegs are fishing well but the hot ones have been where the wind has been pushing into and last week 15 – 23 was the productive area.

GRATUTIES The carp were on the top with the warmer weather and some decent catches were taken on pellet waggler and floating baits. Carp to double figures have fallen to these with plenty in the 4 – 6lb range coming out. Pole and caster is also producing good mixed nets of crucians, skimmers, tench and smaller carp.

ANNIVERSARIES The top end of the pool from pegs 1 – 6 and 21 – 23 has been the most consistent producing nets of F1s and stockies to pellet or maggot on the pole. Anglers have found that fishing into the open water has been best rather than high up to the islands.

WILLOW The bigger carp have been showing close in down the edges with corn or worm the best but paste also starting to catch a few. Pellet wager or a small method/pellet feeder to the island is also worth a try for carp and F1s.

SIBLINGS A Pleasure anglers have enjoyed really good sport with lots of carp, F1s, ide and skimmers coming out. Pole fished pellet, maggot, corn or worm are all working well fished down the middle or close in down the margins.

SIBLINGS B In really great form with anglers reporting 100lb+ bags of F1s. Pole and pellet, corn or worm have worked best fishing down the middle. All pegs are producing but 7 – 11 have been the hot pegs.
