FISHERY REPORT

MOLANDS Molands is still a little patchy but match weights to over 100lb were caught and carp to over 20lb have featured in catches. The top tactics in the matches have been pole fished meat or corn fished short or down the margins and bomb or waggler to the island with 8mm pellet. The carp anglers are catching on krill/squid or strawberry boilies. The most consistent areas are on pegs 2 – 10, 17 – 23, 29, 37 – 46 and 56 – 60.

GEARYS Pleasure anglers have enjoyed good sport with catches of up to 20 carp with plenty of double figure fish coming out. Bomb with pellet or boilies, method feeder and long pole with banded hard pellet have been the best tactics. Silver fish nets to 30lb are coming to meat or caster fished on the pole. Top pegs have been 7 – 16, 19 – 21 and 30 – 36.

LITTLE GEARYS Like all of the pools the fishing has not hit top form but there were signs that it is getting more consistent with nets of F1s to 80lb and good sport has been had from most pegs. Meat, corn or caster down the margins, shallow pellet or caster and a small feeder to the island have all worked well this week.

GRATUITIES A bit better with carp to over 10lb and plenty from 2 – 5lb being caught, small F1s, crucians and skimmers making up the catches. The far side from pegs 9 – 15 has been the better area with corn, pellet or meat float fished down the middle or tight up to the island. A few better fish are coming off the top during the warmer intervals.

ANNIVERSARIES Sport picked up this week with lots of F1s being caught all around the pool and pole fishing tactics with corn, pellet and maggot have worked well. In the top bays from pegs 1 – 6 carp are showing and fish to 15lb were caught and corn or big pellets have accounted for the better samples.

WILLOW Steady sport as usual on the popular Willow pool. Float fished pellet, corn and maggot are catching mixed nets of carp, F1s and silver fish. The bigger carp are being caught, either across to the island with boilies or large pellets or down the margins on corn or paste. Fish to 18lb were caught last week.

SIBLINGS A Fished better this week with nets to 80lb and good back up weights from all around the pool. Carp from 2 – 12lb, F1s to 4lb and silver fish made up the catches. Pole fished dead maggot, pellet or corn has been the best approach fished tight to the island or down the margins.

SIBLINGS B Consistent sport on Siblings B with lots of F1s from 1 – 3lb being caught along with a few carp to 10lb and silver fish. Meat or pellet fished short or down the edges has been the best approach. On the wider pegs at the end of the point, a small pellet or method feeder has caught well.
