REPORT

MOLANDS The first signs of fish spawning this week made for a very much up and down period for fishing. Match weights to over 150lb were caught by midweek but slowed down at the weekend. Pole with meat fished short or down the edges has been the top tactic but bomb and pellet, waggler or hybrid method feeder fished to the island have also accounted for a few fish.

GEARYS The fish were spawning all around the pool by Thursday but the cooler weather at the weekend saw this stop. The fishing actually got better as the weekend went with nets to around 100lb coming to method feeder/hybrid feeder, bomb and pellet or waggler and pellet. On Sunday’s match the top weight was 137lb. Pleasure anglers have had good success fishing off the top with fish to 20lb coming to dog biscuit and bread.

LITTLE GEARYS It has been a tough week on Little Gearys with match and pleasure catches to around 70lb best. Pole fished caster or pellet shallow at 13 metres has been the top tactic and later in the day, fishing down the margins with corn or meat.

WILLOW Carp and F1s to around 3lb are providing the main action with waggler or feeder fished to the island with pellet or corn on the hook and long pole fished shallow with caster or pellet are the top tactics.

ANNIVERSARIES Carp have been showing at the top end of the pool on pegs 2 – 9 with fish to double figures coming to a feeder fished tight across to the far side. Plenty of F1s are being caught on pole fished caster or pellet from all areas of the pool.

SIBLINGS A Carp were spawning early in the week but F1s, ide, skimmers and a few tench were being caught on pole fished paste, maggot and pellet. Tight across to the island or down the margins have been the best areas to fish with pegs 1 – 7 and 17 – 21 in best form.

SIBLINGS B The F1s have been going well with plenty of fish between 1 – 2lb being caught. Nets to around 70lb best this week with corn, paste, meat or pellet fished down the middle and dropping short later on the best approach.
