REPORT

MOLANDS A very up and down week with the changeable weather affecting the fishing. Early in the week, nets to over 100lb were coming from all around the pool but by the weekend, sport was a lot slower with the F1s switching off. The top tactic this week was the waggler with 8mm pellet fished tight across to the island and was catching carp well into double figures. Pellet feeder, method feeder with dead reds or wafters were also catching a few fish.

GEARYS A lot tougher this week with the cooler conditions seeing the carp switching off but samples to nearly 20lb were caught in matches and for pleasure anglers. Pellet/method feeder has been the top tactic with wafter, dead red maggot or pellet on the hook. Bomb and pellet or long pole with banded pellet also catching a few fish. The shallow water at the far end has been best with pegs 20 – 27 the most consistent.

LITTLE GEARYS Weights in matches to 150lb were taken early in the week, but like all the pools the change in the weather affected sport. Big F1s to 6lb and carp to double figures were being caught, mainly close in down the margins with caster, dead maggot or meat. Shallow tactics were also beginning to work well with caster or pellet on the surface catching F1s. Early in the week, pegs 15 – 23 were best but by the weekend, pegs 1 – 10 were better.

GRATUITIES Plenty of carp coming off the top in the warmer weather at the start of the week with fish to double figures coming out. Decent mixed nets taken on pole and pellet/caster or meat fished down the middle or close down the edges. The far side from pegs 9 – 16 has been the most productive area.

WILLOW Just fishing close in on the float has been catching good mixed nets of carp, F1s, crucians, tench and skimmers. Expander pellet and caster have been the top baits. The bigger carp are coming to corn, paste or meat fished down the margins.

SIBLINGS A Pole fished paste or corn has been working best for mixed nets of F1s, carp, ide, skimmers and the odd tench. Shallow tactics also starting to get good results and will only get better as the weather warms up.

SIBLINGS B Still the most consistent of the Siblings pools with lots of F1s being caught on paste or pellet fished down the middle or close down the edge. The bigger carp are coming from the far bank fishing corn or pellet over micros.

ANNIVERSARIES Nets to around 70lb early in the week with paste, meat or pellet fished on the pole working best for F1s to 4lb. The bigger carp have been showing on the top and a small method fished tight to the far side with a wafter or small boilie has caught fish to 15lb.
