FISHERY REPORT

MOLANDS Very slow at the start of the week but improved as the weather got milder and at the weekend, there was a massive winning weight of 175lb from peg 60 by fishery regular Lee Richards and this included a huge weight of 10lb 11oz of F1s. Pole with pellet accounted for the better nets but bomb with bread, maggot feeder and pole with maggots all caught a few fish. Best areas were 1 – 4, 23 – 27, 41 – 46 and 54 – 60.

GEARYS The milder weather saw the carp moving around and feeding with the better nets to 50lb being caught by the weekend. Bomb with pellet or boilies, method feeder and dead red maggots and long pole with banded 6mm pellet accounted for fish to 17lb. Silver nets to 20lb were caught on the pole with worm, caster or maggot.

LITTLE GEARYS Very up and down this week and when it was good, nets to 90lb were caught, mainly F1s but some carp to double figures featured as well. Long pole with maggots or banded pellet was the top tactic with maggot feeder, bomb with 6mm pellet or punched bread and waggler with pellet also working. Pegs 7 – 17 and 25 – 30 have been the most consistent pegs.

ANNIVERSARIES The open area in the middle of the pool is the best at the moment, with pegs 6 and 16 – 23 the top pegs. Bomb with pellet, waggler and pellet, maggot feeder and pole with maggots or pellet have been working with nets to around 50lb best.

GRATUITIES In decent form and peg 15 won the 127 peg Christmas match last week with 79lb of carp caught on bread dobbed along the margins. Good mixed nets were coming to expander pellet or maggots fished over micros down the middle of the pool on the pole. Waggler with corn or punched bread also working tight up to the island.

WILLOW There have been some nice carp caught this week with fish to 16lb weighed in during the matches with bread dobbed across to the island or down the margins working best for them. F1s and silver fish including some nice chub and ide were coming to maggots or pellet on the pole or waggler.

SIBLINGS A Still very clear making the fishing very difficult and nets to 30lb were best this week. Dobbing bread around the peg is best for carp and fish to 25lb came to this tactic. Feeding maggots down the middle is best for F1s but they come later so you need patience.

SIBLINGS B Like Siblings A, Siblings B is very clear but the wider pegs are producing nets to 50lb mainly F1s but the odd carp to double figures are also showing. Dobbing bread or long pole with pellet or maggots has been the best approach.

CRESCENT This smaller pool has been in cracking form recently with plenty of carp from
2 – 10lb showing along with some superb sport from silvers. Bread or pellet for the bigger fish and nets of silvers were coming to maggots or pinkies.
