REPORT

MOLANDS Fished well early in the week but gradually got more difficult as the high pressure came in at the weekend. Match weights to over 100lb were best and carp were providing the best action with fish to nearly 20lb being caught on pellet waggler, bomb and pellet/boilies and surface fishing all accounting for plenty of fish. The F1s are being caught down the edges with casters or maggots.

GEARYS Although there were match weights to over 100lb, Gearys has been very difficult this week with the carp switching off due to an algal bloom changing the colour of the water. Bomb and pellet and method feeder have been the best baits for carp with maggot or caster working best for nets of silvers to 30lb.

LITTLE GEARYS Again another pool which was in superb form early in the week but the high pressure at the weekend saw catches drop. Match weights to over 150lb were recorded and the fish have switched to natural baits better than anything else. Caster fished shallow or maggot over ground bait down the margins have been the outstanding methods on Little Gearys.

GRATUITIES Pleasure anglers have enjoyed the best of the action with surface fishing accounting for a lot of carp in the 4 – 10lb range. Pellet waggler or pellet feeder to the island is also catching a few carp. Maggot, caster or expander pellet fished down the middle is catching crucians to 1lb, big skimmers, roach, perch and a few tench.

ANNIVERSARIES F1s and small carp are providing the main action with shallow pole and pellet the best way at the moment with maggot and caster catching a few ide and skimmers as well. The best pegs have been 2, 6, 15 and 19 – 23.

SIBLINGS A It has been a little tough for most anglers this week on Siblings A with mixed nets of carp, F1s, skimmers and ide with nets to around 50lb best. Shallow pellet or maggot is the most consistent approach but the bigger carp are coming to corn fished tight across to the island.

SIBLINGS B A little slower than of late but plenty of F1s and the odd better sized carp are being caught. Caster, maggot or pellet fished short and shallow is the best approach, with down the edges also worth a try.

WILLOW Still fishing well with lots of carp, F1s, crucians and skimmers showing all around the pool. Down the edges with paste or corn is accounting for the bigger catches but shallow pole and pellet is also scoring well.
