REPORT

MOLANDS A good week with the fishing improving as it went on culminating in a record- breaking catch on Sunday when Wayne Sharman became the first person to break the 200lb mark in a match on Molands. His 203lb 10oz haul was caught on a method feeder fished across to the island on peg 44 and consisted of carp and F1s to 6lb. Method feeder has been the top tactic but shallow pole and caster has also worked really well. Top pegs have been 2, 8, 10, 15, 19, 23, 29. 41 – 46 and 56 – 60.

GEARYS Fished well in areas with the carp on top especially where the wind has been pushing into. Lots of double figure fish showing in catches to over 100lb with straight lead and pellet, method feeder and pellet waggler all catching. Pleasure anglers fishing on the top have also been scoring well on mixers or bread.

LITTLE GEARYS Still very consistent sport despite the low water levels with F1s and carp feeding well all round the pool. Shallow tactics still working best with pellet, maggot or caster fished at 7 – 1.2.5 metres or a small pellet waggler/candle with 6 or 8mm pellet.

SIBLINGS A Carp and F1s coming to paste or pellet fished across to the far bank or down the middle of the pool. Ide and skimmers are also showing with shallow caster or maggot catching nets to 30lb.

SIBLINGS B In good form this week with catches to 100lb+ and good back up weights in matches and every peg is providing plenty of bites with F1s, carp, ide and skimmers coming to paste, pellet or maggot on the pole.

WILLOW Fish tight to the island or close in down the margins for the best action with carp and F1s best in those areas. Corn, paste and banded 6mm pellet are the top baits and pegs 1, 3, 5, 10 and 12 giving the best nets.

ANNIVERSARIES Pegs 1 – 6, 10, 14 – 17 and 21 – 23 have all been in good form this week. F1s from 1 – 3lb providing the main action but carp, tench and skimmers also showing well. Best approach is shallow pole and pellet or maggot.
