FISHERY REPORT

MOLANDS The better catches have come from the island with waggler and pellet or method feeder with meat or wafter accounting for some cracking nets with the best match weight of the year coming from Molands on Sunday at 240lb. Pleasure anglers have caught carp to over 20lb with plenty of doubles showing from all around the pool and dog biscuit on the top or boilies on the bottom have been the best tactics.

GEARYS The deeper end of the pool from pegs 7 – 19 and 31 – 36 have produced the best catches with match weights to over 100lb and carp to 20lb being caught. Bomb with pellet, method feeder or corn fishing down the margins have worked best in the matches and carp anglers fishing out to the middle stumps have reported catches of up to 25 fish including many doubles on boilies on a big method feeder.

LITTLE GEARYS Still in excellent form with match weights to over 150lb and pleasure anglers reporting catches in excess of that. There have been lots of tactics working including waggler with pellet, method feeder with meat or pellet and down the margins with dead maggots over ground bait. Carp to 15lb and F1s to 8lb have featured in catches this week.

GRATUITIES Although catches have not been as big as the other pools there has been some nice fishing on offer at ‘Grats’ with plenty of carp in the 2 – 5lb range with the odd bigger samples to double figures and loads of nice silvers being caught. Feeder to the island with meat or a small boilie and maggot or caster over ground bait has worked well.

ANNIVERSARIES There have been lots of F1s showing all around the pool and pole tactics have been best. Paste, pellet and corn fished over micro pellets seems to be the best approach and F1s to 7lb have fallen to these baits. There have been some nice carp also caught this week with the early pegs from 1 – 6 producing fish into doble figures.

WILLOW In great form with nets to over 100lb reported, made up mainly of carp and F1s in the 3 – 4lb range. Shallow pole with pellet on the jigger has been a top tactic but anglers have enjoyed good sport on a variety of methods. The bigger carp have come to surface baits with fish to 18lb caught this week.

SIBLINGS A Steady fishing this week with nets to around 70lb being caught. Carp, F1s, ide and silver fish showing to pellet, maggot or paste fished on the pole across to the island or down the near margins.

SIBLINGS B Great consistent sport with every peg capable of good catches, mainly F1s but carp, ide and the odd tench also being caught. Pole fished pellet, paste or maggot on the deck or caster up in the water have all been working well.
