Last week there were 67 rods caught 135 fish for an average of just over two fish per rod.

It has been a hard week with the fish shoaling and proving difficult to tempt but there have been a few anglers who have got amongst them and caught well.

Fishery stalwart Rod Lacey of Nuneaton caught and released ten fish whilst fishing from a boat on Cocks Close, catching fish to 4lb on his favourite pattern the Diawl Bach on a floating line. On the Park Meadow pool, Richard Lindsey of Staffordshire fished from a boat and he caught and released 13 fish to 3lb. Dave McSheffrey of Birmingham caught six fish from a boat on Cocks Close and these came to a black and gold Buzzer. Dave Bratby of Birmingham fished catch and release from the bank of Cocks Close and used small black Buzzers to tempt five fish.

The fish are responding better to small Nymphs and Buzzers fished on a floating line with long leaders. Diawl Bach, black, olive or red Buzzer, Bloodworm and even small dries such as Klinkhammer have accounted for the better catches.

The lodge corner and old boat jetty have been the most consistent areas on Cocks Close. The far bank and dam wall have been best on Park Meadow.
