Last week 52 rods caught 125 fish for an average of 2.40 fish per rod

It fished a lot harder last week, probably due to the changeable weather with heavy rain at the start of the week giving way to frosts at the weekend which saw most of the pools frozen.

The largest fish of the week was a 7lb 4oz rainbow caught by Mr D Thompson of Whitwick who was fishing from a boat on Cocks Close and he caught it on a Cats Whisker fished on an intermediate line and then was safely returned. Roger Ward of Solihull fished from the bank of Cocks Close and had fish of 5lb 1oz and 4lb in his limit of five fish and these fell to either a black Lure or a Bloodworm pattern. Mr Matthews of Redditch fished catch and release and caught seven fish to 5lb on a Gold Head Damsel fished on a floating line. Mr A Wooldridge of Solihull fished Cocks Close and Park Meadow pools and caught six fish to 3lb, two from Cocks Close and returned four from Park Meadow using a small Hares Ear Nymph and a Damsel on a floating line while fishing from the bank.

Lures such as Viva, Appetizer, black Tadpole, Cats Whisker and Minkies have been the most productive tactics. Damsel, Diawl Bach, GRHE and P T Nymph have also accounted for a few fish.

The best areas have been the lodge corner, road bank and the old boat jetty on Cocks Close with the dam wall the best area on Park Meadow.
