POLICE reeled in a Coventry man after discovering an “Aladdin’s cave” of suspected stolen fishing gear at his home.
 
Officers say a man stole a decoy pushbike outside Coventry Sports Centre in Fairfax Street at the weekend.
 
The bike – used by Coventry Police to catch thieves – is fitted with tracker device, which can be monitored by officers to trace the stolen goods.
 
After he man took the bait, officers were lead by the tracker to his home in the Bell Green area of the city on Sunday.
 
But not only did the officers discover the bike, they also uncovered a haul of suspected stolen fishing gear worth £10,000 at the house.
 
The man was promptly by officers arrested on suspcion of handling stolen goods.
 
He has since been released on police bail, pending further inquiries.
