The British zander record has potentially been beaten with a magnificent 22lb fish at Anglian Water’s Grafham Water on Sunday, Total-Fishing.com can reveal.

We understand the fish was boated by Walsall angler Michael Dollan, who was fishing with his wife Jane using a mackerel deadbait in 46ft of water.

The Anglian Water reservoirs allow the use of sea fish deadbaits at this time of year. Grafham has long been know to hold some huge zander. For number of zander, Rutland Water is a better bet, but they are smaller.

Incredibly it was Michael’s first ever zander!! Wow!
