Shakespeare is gearing up for another crack at the Winter League title, but they have to navigate the semi final on the Loughborough Canal first.

The venue isn’t fishing too well at the moment and is quite peggy, but skipper Mick Hatchard is hopeful sport will pick up nearer the semi final date on March 8th and says that the venue will suit his team well.

“Although in my opinion this semi final is the toughest, I believe the Superteam has possibly one of the strongest canal teams in the country,” Mick told Total-Fishing.com. “We have fished the venue before and feel it suits us. We’ve have already won our winter league against tough opposition like Drennan North West, Fox Tipton, and Browning Central, who are all previous finalists.”

The lineup for this year’s semi includes Daiwa Trentmen, Fox Tipton, Leicester and Hot Rods, who are all capable of finishing in the top three and grabbing a place in the prestigious final on the River Nene.

“Our squad won’t be practicing every week on the venue, as we all tend to fish similar venues on our local West Midlands circuit. But will fish the teams of eight league being run,” added Mick.
